Mrs. Esther Amoakohene Davis was a devoted Christian, loving wife, caring mother, accomplished administrator, and compassionate servant whose life touched countless individuals through her kindness, humility, generosity, and unwavering faith in God.

Born on 17th November 1970 in Adum, Kumasi, Esther was raised in a Christian home where strong values of faith, discipline, respect, and service were nurtured from an early age. These values became the foundation upon which she built a life marked by integrity, compassion, and a genuine concern for the well-being of others.

A firm believer in lifelong learning, she pursued her education with dedication, earning a Bachelor of Management Studies degree and later a Master of Arts degree in Democracy, Governance, Law and Development from the University of Cape Coast. Her professional career spanned more than three decades, primarily at the Central Region Development Commission (CEDECOM), where she rose through the ranks through hard work, professionalism, humility, and excellence, eventually serving as Acting Head of Administration and Transport.

Beyond her professional achievements, Esther’s greatest passion was serving God and people. She was an active and highly respected member of the Maranatha Assemblies of God Church, Cape Coast, where she served faithfully in various leadership capacities, including Youth Secretary, the first female Youth President, and President of the Joy Fellowship. She was widely admired for her prayerful life, wise counsel, servant leadership, and ability to bring people together with love and grace.

Those who knew Esther remember her as a woman of peace, kindness, and quiet strength. She had a warm smile, a listening ear, and a generous heart. She consistently supported people in need, encouraged the discouraged, mentored young people, and opened her home and heart to others. Her life reflected the Christian virtues of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

As a wife and mother, Esther was deeply devoted to her family. Together with her husband, Prof. Francis Davis, she built a Christ-centred home founded on love, faith, prayer, and mutual respect. She was a nurturing mother who invested her time, energy, and prayers in the growth and well-being of her children.

The Esther Amoakohene Davis Memorial Foundation was established to honour and continue the values she lived by. Through empowering women, supporting brilliant but needy students, caring for orphans and orphanages, assisting the aged, and reaching out to vulnerable individuals and families, the Foundation seeks to preserve her legacy of compassion, service, faith, and hope.

Her life reminds us that true greatness is found not in titles or recognition, but in faithful service to God and humanity. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy continues to inspire lives, strengthen communities, and bring smiles to those in need.
